There is no account
Wordas never asks for an email address, a phone number or a password. The first time you open the app it generates a random identifier on your device and gives you an automatic username. That identifier does not identify you as a person; it only tells us which device a score belongs to.
What we store
Your username, your game language, the rounds you play (number of guesses, your first guess, duration, score) and your light balance. These are what make the leaderboard work. We do not access your location, contacts, photos, microphone or device identifiers.
Protecting the leaderboard
For the leaderboard to mean anything, we have to tell apart accounts that learned the day's word in advance and then “guessed” it on the first try. Two things help with that: your round's first guess and a one-way digest of the network your request came from.
The network digest is produced with a secret key and cannot be reversed — we never write down your IP address. The value can answer exactly one question: did two records arrive from the same network. It cannot identify you as a person, locate you, or match you with activity anywhere else, and it is never shared.
At registration the app also asks Apple or Google once to confirm that your device is a real device. What comes back is a yes/no answer and nothing else about your device, and a failed check never stops you from playing.
Ads
When you run out of lights you may choose to watch a rewarded ad to earn one. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which processes its own data under its own policy. The app requests non-personalised ads, so it does not ask for a profile to be built about you for ad selection. Watching ads is entirely optional — the daily word is always free and lights refill on their own.
Deleting your data
In the app, go to Settings → Delete account: your account, every round you played, your scores and your leaderboard position are permanently erased. If you have already removed the app, email info@asveas.com with your username. Details are on the data deletion page.
Children
Wordas is suitable for all ages but does not knowingly collect data from children. The only thing collected is in-game scores.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date on this page is updated. Questions: info@asveas.com.
